Outgrowing Power, Anger and Control
OPAC Parenting
Classes
A twelve
week series of classes to teach parents the skills of filial play.
A 1985 Massachusetts study found that children who
witness their mother being abused are:
- 24 times more likely to commit sexual assault
- 50% more likely to abuse drugs & alcohol
- 74% more likely to commit crimes against a person, i.e. mugging
- 6 times more likely to commit suicide
When parents who have abused learn the skills of filial parenting,
these statistics can change.
"Becoming a better father was an unexpected bonus of attending an OPAC group.
The relationship I have with my children is better than I thought would ever
be possible. I feel like I know who they are and what's happening in their lives.
I think we have a healthy, mutual love going on in our house."
